First Visits

The first visit for a new adult patient involves a comprehensive oral health evaluation. The emphasis of this appointment is the determination of future dental needs, the creation of a treatment plan when indicated, and an assessment of the patient’s periodontal health. Past dental history, expectations, and desired dental outcomes are all reviewed. Digital X-rays are taken, gum pocketing depths are recorded, and an oral cancer-screening exam is completed as well as a thorough examination of the entire dentition and the oral cavity. We use an intra-oral camera during each new client exam – thereby offering a unique “tour” of the mouth. From these various diagnostic modalities, a treatment plan is formulated.

We offer free “Happy Visits” to all first-time appointments for children 4 years and younger.

We recommend having children in as early as three years old to introduce them to their doctor and create that fun experience that will set the tone for future visits. A ride in the chair, and meeting the tickle brush can aide in making their visit memorable and fun making their next visit something they look forward to.
