Jitka Matherly
D.D.S.
Jitka is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2004. For the first ten years of her career, she practiced in the Baltimore / Washington DC area in private practices focused on cosmetic, restorative, and sedation dentistry. In 2014 Jitka followed her dreams and moved up to Vermont to practice in a community-focused setting and be closer to nature. She believes in listening to patients and creating individualized treatment plans to meet the specific needs of those she cares for.
John Hirce
D.M.D.
John relocated to Stowe to join a practice and build a family. It’s been the best decision of his life. To be in the prime of his career, immersed in such natural beauty and surrounded by a caring and active outdoor community while working in a state-of-the-art office – who could ask for more?
About
Jitka & John
Jitka and John are passionate about teaching the link between oral health and overall wellness, whether it’s discussing the connection between gum health and cardiovascular disease, or the physical manifestations of stress, such as clenching and grinding of teeth. We have adjusted our clinical environment to allow for the time necessary to discuss these and other important issues with patients during their routine care and specific problem-focused exams. We strive for excellence not only in our outcomes, but also in our processes – coming up with individualized solutions for whatever dental issues you may be dealing with, and doing it with compassion and understanding.
Together, John and Jitka are dedicated yogis, working through the teacher training program, deepening their knowledge of the practice and ultimately the self.
They both adhere strictly to a plant-based lifestyle, practice yoga, and meditate daily. In this day and age of rampant burnout and out-of-control stress, they believe this lifestyle best helps them to balance the demands of the office and busy family life so they can show up in the best way possible for the patients, team members, and children who depend on them daily.
